Hi this term my daughter is going to start walking to school (big step for her; bigger for me!)
She asked me if she could have a phone in case of emergencies which seems reasonable. Anyone got suggestions for a good phone for a pre teen. I mainly want her to be able to call or text.

Do you want a smartphone or a phone that only has phone, text and camera? How much do you want to spend?
I can't help with model but would suggest you install Life360 on it. My daughter uses this app to follow my grandchildren (and me) as they go to school and out and about.

How did we ever cope at school without mobile phones ?

(But muuuummmmm... all my friend's parents have let them have a phone !!!!!)
Ah smart phones, ideal for letting youths look at stuff on the Internet you'd like them to avoid, then blaming the Internet. Good luck finding the phone you're looking for.
OG, when you were a lad school was within walking distance and your mum was home all day if she needed to be contacted.
