What Awful Role Models Mrs Vardy And Mrs Rooney Are.
110 Answers
This is what "social media" has done to Society.
Why should any celeb's WAG get any air time at all?
It's bad enough when the celebs themselves sound off about topics (like potato crisps for example) they know no more about than Joe Public.
Are we so desperate for "entertainment" that we have to wallow in such superficial nonsense ?

I saw a great quote on twitter which said something like "If this pair didn't have money, we all know it would be sorted out with a scrap outside Spoons at 2am when they were both legless on jagerbombs and would only finish when one of their boobs fell out".

Why do you see these ladies as 'role models'?
The concept of a 'role model' is a spurious invention of the media, usually only used to advise that someone is 'not a good role model'.
The best example was Amy Winehouse.
Having spent years gleefully exposing every single moment of her tragic decline and death, the tabloids then enjoyed a pururient hi-handed volte face and tutted about what a 'dreadful role model' she was for young people.
Of course, that utterly misses the entire point that, ironically, Amy Winehouse is a fantastic role model for young people!!!
Her decline and fall, pictures included, is a perfect example of the damage and ruination that alcohol and drugs will cause if used to excess - but of course, the press don't do irony.
In terms of Mrs Rooney and Mrs Vardey, I see no indication of why on earth they should be 'role models' for anyone at all, a concept and label they don't invite, or require.
But if you do want to see them as 'role models', then again, they are perfect!!
They are examples of what an excess of time, money, and undeserved media attention, can have on people who clearly lack even the basic equipment for a world in the public eye - intelligence, a sense of self-awareness, and an ability to understand that the millionaire cyber-equivalent of a cat fight on a Saturday night in Salford, is not going to leave anyone involved with any dignity whatsoever.

// Too much money, too much time to spare.//
quite agree
Justice doo dah told them to settle out of court weeks ago
since it is judge decided, we can discuss it at greater length
sozza the judge is hearing the case without a jury
it strikes me Mrs V is onto an absolute loser
she has admitted leaking - game over
and judgie baby is unlikely to accept a pleading: "yeah I leaked A and B but not C and D: that was someone else."
the lawyers skipping down the strand whooping

I am proud to say that I studied the pics. of the 2 'ladies' for some time in order to identify them. It turned out I'd got them wrong. :(
It is an appalling waste of money and (more importantly) court time which could be better used.
I gather that the judge advised them ages ago to come to a setttlement.
Role models? i find it hard to believe that anyone could pay any attention to this other than knowing what it is about.
However - it is to the detriment of society that this is considered important by quite a large section of society.

I agree with Andy. Neither Vardy nor Rooney ever set out to be role models.
They are two silly women with “more money than sense”, as my granny used to say.
I admit to reading various newspapers’ reports though, and will keep half an eye out for the verdict.
I hope the judge awards £1 in damages and each have to pay the other’s legal costs.

Yeah, douglas, you are cruising for a bruising ...
As for the two ladies, I feel sorry for Rooney (the one being sued). She sussed out where the leak was coming from, she said it was Vardy's account (not Vardy herself), Vardy has pushed it all the way to court and now Vardy's admitted in court that her account has looked at Rooney's private posts before and she's sold stories to the papers before! So even if she hasn't done it this time (which I believe she has) it's hardly libel ...

Thanks for those responses folks - although the role model argument got a bit out of hand IMHO. Just saying.
I just love Barmaid's comment, it's so true at times - not that I'm a ghoul ;-)
