Help me! I am writing a guest list for my birthday, and I want to put it in alphabetical order. I have written all the names out and they are columns on the page, but is there a tool I can use to sort the list into alphabetical order? To be even more tricky, I want to obviously sort the names by their surnames which there means I need to sort the list by the second word in each line.

Is this possible???? Please tell me it is!! and how!!

Many thanks.

Yes.

Do your columns on a spread sheet and then under use 'sort' - to be found under 'tool'.

Sorry mcquire, mixed my words up a bit there! Simple do your christian names & surnames in separate columns. Trust you'll understand.
