You've lost me, DTC!

To transfer any file from a mobile phone to a PC, you simply need to use the phone's USB charging cable to make the connection between the two devices and then move the file in the same way that you move other files between external storage devices (such as memory sticks or SD cards) and your computer.

It's the bit after that in your post that's got me baffled though ("to then load up on a web site of another"). Are you trying to get the file onto another computer, onto another phone, to upload it to a file storage site (such as Dropbox) or to upload it to a video streaming site (such as YouTube)?

got it done somehow - didn't know that I could have used the charging cable.

It was on to a market research web page with a video upload....
