Ios Dropbox Read/Write Access

I use Dropbox to transfer files between computers and my iOS devices. When I share between PCs I can update text files on either machine and the changes take effect everywhere. However on my iPad and iPhone my files seem to be in read only mode.

Is this expected behaviour or do I have a setting set wrong?
