Iphone Face Id Help?

When it’s inconvenient to use my face ID, i sturggle to get the passcode option to show up to use that instead. I try swiping and swiping to get it to show up so i can unlock my phone manually but it keeps saying face id. Sometimes it does show up so it is activated but struggle to

Keep holding both the side button and volume button until the “slide to power off” interface appears.

Click the “Cancel” button at the bottom and then you will be required to enter passcode to unlock your iPhone.
