I have been led to believe, if you can show proof of having the 2 covid injections, you don’t need to have a PCR negative test result, for traveling to certain countries. I have also heard if you get the NHS app to your phone, you can get a download of your medical history inc proof of covid vaccine injections. Trouble is I live in Wales and the app is not applicable to us here. I’ve even phoned my local health board, havn’t managed to talk to a human, and havn’t had a reply to the message I left. Anyone in the same position. Any info. Thanks.

You probably live in England bobbi . Contacting 119 on Monday might have some answers bednobs.
Yes, best of luck Bob
//I have also heard if you get the NHS app to your phone, you can get a download of your medical history inc proof of covid vaccine injections.//

You certainly can.

//I have been led to believe, if you can show proof of having the 2 covid injections, you don’t need to have a PCR negative test result, for traveling to certain countries.//

From the “Common Questions” area in the Covid vaccination record section of the NHS app:

//Can I use this to prove my vaccination status for international travel?

No, this service cannot be used to prove your vaccination status for international travel. This service allows you to view details of the vaccinations you have had.//
Having the two jags does not guarantee you can travel to a particular country.

Having said that, as "This service allows you to view details of the vaccinations you have had." how does it not, "prove your vaccination status for international travel."?

If certain countries require only proof of having had the two jags, why would the app not suffice?
NJ, from Monday you can
"How to access your COVID-19 vaccination status
Through the NHS App

You can access your COVID-19 vaccination status through the free NHS App from 17 May. You can access the app through mobile devices such as a smartphone or tablet. Proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will be shown within the NHS App. We recommend that you register with the app before booking international travel.
By calling 119

If you do not have access to a smartphone and know that the country you are travelling to requires COVID-19 vaccination status, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 (from 17 May) and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 working days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine. We expect the letter to take up to 7 working days to reach you.

The letter will be sent automatically to the address registered with your GP. The 119 call handler you speak to will not be able to see your address to check this with you. If you’ve recently moved house, make sure you’ve given your new address to your GP practice before calling 119.
Yes thanks, both. I know all that woofy as I have downloaded the app both onto my phone and my laptop. I was simply explaining that, according to the government's advice, showing your vaccination status on your phone will not suffice. I've no idea why and I've no idea why a letter obtained via 119 will suffice whilst displaying the same information on your phone won't. But there's lots of things I don't understand with the measures and procedures that have been introduced and I doubt I'm alone.
NJ, that is what i am saying will change on monday. From monday, it will be available to use to show status for international travel (sigh)
It doesn’t say that, tho. It says if your eligible to travel you can request a letter stating such. Nothing about being able to use the app on its own.
We await Monday with bated breath! :-)
Apologies, miss read it.

"Apologies, miss read it."

and stop calling me miss

Just been on the 119 helpline twice. Both times 2 different people they hadn’t a clue what I was on about. First person. After putting me on hold. Download the app. Me... It’s not applicable to Wales. Put on hold. You can show the card. Me.. Been told only written confirmation is acceptable for foreign travel.
Person 2 You can download the app etc etc.
Eventually person 2...The NHS confirmation is only available to people in England who don’t have a smartphone
More confusion.
Is this the same test and trace app I downloaded last year, if so how do I find my record of my vaccines on it?
Question Author
