An App

Can anybody guide me to putting on an App on my Amazon Fire to talk to my American friend on her mobile phone. Thanks for any advice.

oh whatsapp! I don't think it works for phone calls on tablets...it doesn't do phonecalls on my ipad.

so glanced through that video and so I'm asking when the app thing is on your fire - do you touch it and insert the mobile phone etc.

oh right - it is just my American friend sisters who are here in NI - phone her via their iphones which I don't have so perhaps I can't do it.

I believe it works like any other device. Once WhatsApp is installed, you enable it through your mobile, just like WhatsApp installed on a PC desktop.

I haven't tried it myself, jj. But Telegram app is saying you can now use it for calls from Amazon Fire.
Do you have a smartphone?

Jim, it seems to work on phones, but not tablets. We originally used something, I think called Vibra... as a tablet alternative. But I can't find it now.

JJ, look up the viber app from your tablet. You will both need to have it, though.

I'm thinking but I may be wrong. The two sisters and American sister(my friend) all have Smartphones and connect so it probably wouldn't work for me.
