Many times I have passed on a bus and seen JW's, with their carts (and pamphlets), A few feet away from some begging, wrapped in a bag.
Why arnt their kingdom halls open to the homeless, the desperate?

(actually made it my bussiness to talk to these people. And they arnt all druggies or bums, or wino's..just people who are societies rejects.
And yet only a few feet away are the very people that (according to your scriptures) you are suppossed to help?

And what if they WERE all druggies bums or winos?
They are still sentient beings, with feelings!

Not only the Jdubs but religion.
its left to the secular to clear up the broken of society.
Really? I live in London and use TFL quite a lot and I haven't seen any JWs on the pavement. Maybe I should take my binoculars with me next time.
People of all faiths and none have been helping the homeless, in some cases for decades - I have zero knowledge of JWs.

This is just one of many examples of people helping, repeated thousands of times across the country.

How would you know? That said, JW's help their own. The parable of the Good Samaritan doesn't appear to resonate with them.
Good grief nailit !!! /Many times I have passed on a bus and seen JW's, with their carts (and pamphlets), A few feet away from some begging, wrapped in a bag./

An extraordinary observation & analysis gathered (many times?) from a passing bus, have you been reading Charles Dickens?
Clearly the man on the claptrap omnibus.
Not extraordinary at all. Khandro, and Nailit hasn't been reading Charles Dickens.

How many times do I have to insist that buses, JWs pamphlets, kingdom hall all dont feature in the NT and so it would be hard to give an opinion on them in biblical times
naomi; I read your article, what are you saying ? Nothing there about homeless desperate people, just a description of the JWs
Take a walk around London's Liverpool Street, Khandro.... or even a bus ride.

What exactly would that prove & what would it have to do with the OP?
Perhaps they dont think bums are worth saving Nailit. Wouldn't surprise me (about any religion)
Khandro, the homeless are the subject of the OP.

Or try another city then?
It appears that JW's have taken to street evangelism.
(Whether to replace door knocking or to suppliment it, I knoweth not).
...and cant be arrised anymore to get into conversation with these robots....

Fact is, they are there with their booklets, pamphlets etc, exorting us all to follow the teachings of Jesus. Fair enough! Show the way then, why you ignore rough sleepers wrapped in blankets a few feet away from you.

Ive know many JW's over the years, and why they have all been kindly type of people, it appears that they have only been kind to their own, or potential converts and *** the poor 6ugger lying next to me in a sleeping bag while I preach about love.

I can certainly attest to mamy's link that other faiths offer help regardless of religious affiliation. As far as Im concerned the Hare Krishnas feed far more people than anyone else without asking anything back in return (including my own employer, the Trussell Trust).

But this post was about (and in answer to) our resident JW.

It was this comment that led me to reply.

That is far too sweeping a statement.

Said in haste, I agree.
A lot of faiths are proactive.
(unfortunatly some arnt)
And those the ones that I was thinking off.
Apologies.
I understand x
Do the Socialist Work streeers help the homeless or Extinction Rebellion or the other myriad groups of activists who use the High Street to spread their message.
Not one wants to see homeless people on streets, do they?
Many Churches do want they can but homelessness can be a complex issue.
Isn't it best tackled at a political level?
naomi;//Khandro, the homeless are the subject of the OP.//

If so, why single out & drag the JWs into it, why not atheists?
