I have an old Canon EOS 5D that has been well looked after from new. Before Christmas I was using it and the screen went blank. When I removed the Lens The mirror dropped out. I didn’t know what to do to get it repaired. Eventually, I contacted Canon. They have just informed me that they do not repair old cameras like the 5D. Does anyone know of a reputable Canon repairer that I could use to have it repaired and maybe serviced? Many thanks, Bramley.

Sorry if this is incorrectly posted? Where should it have gone?

My God that was quick! Thank you. I'll have a look. I don't think it's worth spending a lot on the camera. Many thanks, Bramley.
I hope that I have been of some help.
When (after getting a quote from a company found online) deciding whether or not it's worth repairing your camera, compare the price of the repair to what you'd have to pay for a new or second hand EOS 5D. A Mark I version of the camera, in good condition and with a 6-month warranty, can be bought from (the excellent) Park Cameras for £279. So it's clearly not worth paying a lot more than that to get your own camera repaired. However the current (Mark IV) version of the camera is listed at £2869 from Currys/PC World (although it's currently out of stock), so repairing a Mark II or Mark III camera might possibly be worthwhile. [Those prices are 'body only', of course]
I'll second that recommendation for Park Cameras - I've been dealing with them for many years.
This was a known issue with mk1 5Ds, I’m afraid you’ve missed the recall and free repair by some years :-( https://petapixel.com/2015/05/13/canon-warns-the-original-5d-may-suffer-from-mirror-separation/
BTW there are many You Tube videos on how to fix it yourself if quotes are prohibitively expensive
Get the glue out ;-)
