I expect all you experts are sighing 'Oh no, not tearinghair again'... but this one is really bothering me.
On my tablet (Samsung Galaxy Tab A) emails are not getting through; I can't connect, and have the message 'Email keeps stopping'. It's synced with my phone (also Samsung) and everything is OK there, as it is on my desktop. There has been no interruption of wifi as far as I can tell. I've tried switching the tablet right off for a few minutes, but no change. I don't want to do anything that might pause any reception of email in case of contact from family in USA.
I can just about manage with the phone, but it's very small in comparison and I don't see it too clearly at the best of times. Desktop is less accessible, so I do want to sort the problem if possible. I'd be grateful for your advice.

What do you use for email? Gmail or something else?
Some email providers now need you to use a app password, not your usual email password.

It depends on your email provider.

btinternet.com. But there's no problem with emails on the phone, and I'm not getting any request on the tablet to sign in with or without a password.
Is your BT email via Yahoo? You might not get prompted to setup an app password.

Can see the same email on multiple devices and the same sent item each device. If so that means you are using IMAP settings - which is good.

It means that you can delete the account from the tablet then re-add it.

That might be enough to sort it.

If not, delete the app and resinstall it.

Thank you. That sounds a bit nerve-wracking, so maybe after a glass of wine...I'll need to get out the correspondence linked to the tablet so that I can find any passwords that might be needed to re-install.
I had a similar issue with a couple of apps (including Outlook) on my phone today. I use Google Chrome as my browser and apparently a recent update to it has affected some apps. I cured it by going into Settings/Apps and clicking on the three dots in the top right-hand corner and selecting 'uninstall updates'. After I had done this the apps worked OK.

I don't seem to have an Uninstall Updates option.

It seems to be a general problem for which Google have provided a fix. I'm currently running the Android update, though it's taking a long time. Apparently I then need to do the same for Chrome. Why is nothing ever simple? But at least it wasn't a fault with my tablet.
