I've never noticed any of mine getting hot.
Yes, mine gets quite hot, partly due I think to being in line with windscreen-warming draught from the heater. Never been a problem to date (several years).

Thanks don't seem right for a camera like this to get that hot. Have emailed the manufacturer to see what they say, but as yet no reply.

This is a Nextbase 322gw the magnet on the camera gets to hot to even hold your finger on.
That does sound a bit excessive. I can't comment on magnet, I fix mine with a couple of rubber bands round the rear-view mirror.
I have a Viofo A129 Duo Plus. The rear camera does get very warm, but not the front one. It doesn't seem to matter.

Will give them a chance to get back to me, but have searched the internet and can't find any one else reporting this sort of problem, ( if it is a problem) but I couldn't leave my finger on the magnet for any longer than 2 seconds? and the outer casing of the camera was hot.
Doesn't sound right at all. I would return it for replacement as faulty. I have never noticed any heat from mine.
I've had 3 different makes and none of them have got hot. I'd go with Hoppy's suggestion and get it replaced.
Mine is hardwired and doesn't get hot.

Been to Halfords today and they have refused to refund or replace, they say that they do get hot, but the chap next door has got one and he says there's no heat at all coming from his. Looks like I have a battle on my hands. Halfords say they can't get a replacement from Nextbase unless they can prove its faulty. ???
It's a fire risk if it gets that hot. I would try ringing Halfords customer service.

I was in the shop for nearly 2 hours, during that time the manager said he had been talking to head office, and they also refuse? The chap next door has got the same model. Think they are just trying to fob me off, so its looking like Trading standards sadly.
Don't let it go.
