I’m with Talktalk, and have had no problems for nearly three years. Yesterday however, the reception was awful, it kept switching off from lunchtime onwards. Has anyone else had this? Please don’t be too technical in your reply!

I had no problems with TalkTalk fibre internet.

BT Outreach are responsible for the lines, so maybe check with some of your neighbours (not necessarily with TalkTalk) if they had any problems.
Also with TT and had no problems but there are frequently little outages in certain areas, I'd start by looking on TT's website where they list known problems in certain areas.

Sorry if I'm saying the obvious, but have you rebooted the router?
(switched it off for a short while, then on again)

Hopkirk - yes I did that (several times!).
Another possibility, the routers don't last forever.

If it keeps happening, suggest they send you a new one.
However it might just be that Openreach were doing some maintenance in your area.

I’ve just checked with the link you sent chelle. I live in Nantwich and there was maintenance done at the Bingley centre yesterday. It’s in my area (I think) so it could have been that. No problems today so far, so I will keep my fingers crossed.
