Anybody know of good source of a rug kit.

Have been trawling ebay and Amazon.

Can see plenty cushion size 12" x 12", but looking for something around 60cm x 40cm and ideally under £30.

Looking at this as a birthday present idea.

I couldn't remember the name of the company that made rug kits back in the 1960s, but a quick Google reminded me - Readicut:

Just realised that Readicut's products don't meet your "under £30". All I can suggest is what my mum used to do to keep my grandad occupied: buy rug canvas of the required size and hanks of carpet/rug wool which can be cut into suitable lengths.
There used to be Rya rug kits in my far distant youth but don't know if they are around now

Thanks all.

Buenchico you've found some I didn't find. I found the oval one before (think I spotted it on eBay not Amazon.) I like it and the cactus one - both would suit the recipient.

I found plenty cat and puppies, but they were not "the recipient".

The best range seem to come from China. Some of the Chinese sellers I found on ebay don't post to my postcode, but spotted that some of the Amazon ones are supplied by Amazon which is good.

Etch - I had thought of that, even found a site to generate a pattern from a photo of their dog, but the beauty of a kit is you don't end up with loads of extra wool when you only need a few strands of some colours!

Had looked at Readicut - I remember them from the 70's.

Off to visualise the sizes (and charge the ipad!)
