New Ios Download

Have tried downloading the new iOS to my iPad, but get a error telling me I havn’t enough space, over 3gb. That’s a lot. And to delete some apps.
It also advises to connect iPad to PC and download via iTunes. So what’s the difference. Thanks.

If you do it via iTunes the storage is done on the PC rather than the iPad
