I have unlimited WiFi usage with my broadband package. Does this mean I can stream anything i.e. BBC iplayer, ITV etc. through my TV for no extra charge? Sorry I am completely untechnical .....

You won't have to pay extra for the internet usage, but of course you might have to pay for the actual stream (tho not BBC, ITC etc)
bbci player and itv are free, can't speak for others

All the usual catch-up services (BBC, ITV, Ch4, Ch5) will not cost...you'll have to pay for things like Amazon Prime, Netflix, Now TV, Britbox, Apple TV+, Disney+, Starzplay etc.
