Not sure if this is the right place! I have two Metabo cordless drills about 25-30 years old. Their batteries are now dead. They look like this https://ibb.co/qJQFLqd
Does anyone know where I can get new ones? On the Metabo site there’s nothing remotely like them. When they started running out replacements were very expensive.

If I cannot get batteries, what can I do with the drills? - only polite answers please!

Bramley, I've still got a couple of Makita ones about that age. I have more recent drills, but it's such a shame to throw the old ones out. I get the old type Ni-Cad 9.6v batteries from one of the Ebay shops. Try there. A long shot............... I've never done it, but a friend of mine simply dismantles the battery case, and replaces the re-chargeable batteries...

You could try this Duracell enquiry form - it includes Metabo in the manufacturer drops-down menu. You also need to know the model type/name.

A long shot............... I've never done it, but a friend of mine simply dismantles the battery case, and replaces the re-chargeable batteries inside. He seems to have no trouble. They are usually just a few standard size batteries taped together.
The spare parts listings on Metabo's website seems to be inoperative. While there are six different 9.6V battery packs listed, clicking through to view the details just shows 'No entries found' each time. However that seems to happen for every battery listed, rather than just for older models, so it appears to be a problem with the website (rather than an indication that the batteries are no longer available).

I suggest a direct enquiry to Metabo, using this form

That is a brilliant idea Builder and I am up for it. But having unscrewed the casing I found https://ibb.co/k0T62y8

I’m afraid that is a job too far! There are 8 batteries. I never got a reply from Metabo. So I’ll try ebay. Many thanks all. Bramley
OK, but...............

You'd need 8 of these............................

8 x 1.2v = 9.6v
And a soldering iron. If you change your mind. ;o)
