I have a new Windows 10 laptop which came with a McAfee trial that ended yesterday. When I open the McAfee tile it says "We're extending it a little longer" I`ve no idea how much longer. Anyway, I don`t want McAfee and am thinking that I will just rely on Windows Security. How can I be sure that Windows Security will switch back on if I uninstall McAfee? Has anyone any experience of this? There are lots of answers on various sites but everyone throws in their two penneth worth of opinions and there is no guarantee that they actually know what they're talking aobut.

No guarantee here either ;-)

Doesn't Windows give you an advisory warning if it "thinks" you need to switch security on ? I'd hope it'd tell no AV was there and turn on anyway.

O G - I don't know because I have never been in that situation before. I have always had Norton but don't want it this time.
i ignore the McAffee signs, just click on them when they occasionally pop up, i rely on the Windows security.
i have a windows 10 fairly new laptop. Dell.
Imo McAfee isnt worth a light, Windows will click back in if you delete McAfee
