What's going to happen when eveyone's sat-nav stops working,will there be multiple calls from lost people,and mutiple crashes because it said 'turn right or left',or lot's of people wondering around lost because they were told 'You have reached your destination'--make a good comedy sketch.

Whether your aware,or not, Britain withdrew from the Galileo project and it's £10bn. cost so far( it will not get it's £1.2 bn.back) and decided to 'go it alone', involving some various countries and companies (Five Eyes alliance)amongst many! The European Union decided that the security aspect should not be available to people like the police,the armed forces,university space research,etc. and now Britain thinks it can develope it's own system for about £5bn.??
In the meantime it's crossing it's fingers for sympathy & understanding, as the Galileo project prepares for final completion in 2026.
Will sat-navs stop working? Who knows?

Don't most satnavs use the GPS system? That is completely separate from the Galileo system.

Currently we use American;Galileo is still at the building stage,but we could, if pushed, and who could push Boris into trying to escape by opting into the 'BeiDuo-2' Chinese system,no risk to national security there then?
