To switch it off (and revert to the standard 'jelly babies'), go to 'view your profile' (top right) and click 'Deactivate avatar'.

To change it to something else, log into Gravatar and upload a new image to your account there:

Either go to your profile and 'de-activate your avatar, or go to Wordpress and alter it there.
