I suspect that I won't be the only person on this thread to query why the hell you want to buy a laptop from the store that most people here totally detest (because of their incredibly poor service and staff that know everything about their commission and nothing about their products!)

However, even if we put that aside for the moment, it's still impossible to answer your question unless we know what you plan to do with your laptop. A laptop that's perfect for web-browsing, emailing, word-processing, etc might well be rubbish for playing the latest video games on or for high-end video-processing.

If you only want to store documents and emails on your laptop, you'll only need a small hard drive (or SSD or eMMC memory). However if you want to pack it full of videos, you'll need a really big drive.

If you'll mainly be using your laptop with the power adapter plugged into the mains, battery life might not be important to you but if you want (say) to use it for collecting data from people you're interviewing in the street, then you'll need really long battery life.

Similarly, if you'll mainly be using your laptop in your home, its weight might not matter much to you. Howeve if you'll have to carry it around with you all day, you'll need something light.

Tell us your requirements and we will hopefully be able to suggest a suitable laptop for you (and also possibly a far better place to buy from!)
Maybe the OP has a voucher for Curry's?
^^maybe, but not sufficiently interested in Chris's excellent answer to reply, as yet.
I bought my laptop from Currys. I have been completely happy with it. Not everyone is happy to buy off the internet and in my case, as a touch typist, I need to have a look at the keys and see if I can work with them.
Postman. I purchased my HP Pavilion from Currys 9 years ago. It is still going strong. "She who must be obeyed" purchased a Microsoft surface pro from Currys as a gift for me , after having she tells me, good advice from the staff in our local branch. We have a sooper dooper UHD TV and a rather good Bloo Ray player that we also purchased from Currys. To give you good advice we would need to know what your budget is, and just as important what you intend to use the laptop for. All you need to know is that you do not need any of the "add ons" that the staff are tasked with flogging to you. That is not their fault. Come back and tell us who want to help, and what your requirements are.
I also bought a HP Pavillion from Currys. Yes the staff were a pain with their 'not in stock but if you pay now, one will be here at the close of day' Yeah right.
Mine`s an HP Pavilion too. It's been fantastic
Haha Postman.....you have just had 3 endorsements for a HP Pavilion laptop. Do not take that as the one to "get". I am sure that non of us know anything about the ones that are now on sale or what the new specs. are for them......Forgot, we also purchased our latest gas cooker and our washing machine from Currys.
Togo...no matter how many items you have personally bought from Currys, the company still languishes at the bottom of customer satisfaction surveys....not only for their inept sales techniques but also for their appalling service when things go wrong.
Perhaps that is because people like myself don't respond to such "surveys" but the eternal moaners do. Have you managed to find the link showing this "customer satisfaction survey" yet?
Interesting...From Internet Retailing U.K. Dec. 2017

IRUK’s latest research that ranked both Currys and PC World highly in The Customer Dimension. The brands (rated separately) performed particularly well in response times for dealing with a customer query and how satisfactorily an issue was resolved. The quality of PC World’s customer service when contacted via Facebook was near the top of the ranking, while Currys performed well in the time it took to process refunds.
^^Every year, Which? (Consumers Association) surveys all it's members for the annual "best and worst brands for customer service" survey. Results are published in Which? magazine and on the Which? website. The last published results were in September 2019.
CurrysPCWorld were at 90th position, along with other expected no-hopers like Ryanair, BT, British Gas, TalkTalk etc.
