Using Google search with Firefox on my Acer laptop (Windows 10) I clicked on a pop-up label which asked me to continue with Google of Firefox ( I think). Anyway, I clicked 'Google' and immediately the screen went black with the work 'Locking' flashing on screen. The machine then shut down.
Every time I try to start the machine, the power button flashes for a few seconds and then powers off without getting anywhere.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks.

Sorry, Facebook, not Firefox option.
Is it plugged in to the mains or running from its battery?

I think I'm going around the bend, Jim !
Hadn't used the machine for a few weeks and thought it would carry on as it left off; adequately charged.
After charging for a couple of hours it started up ok but is very, very slow. I now takes several minutes to start any programme, whereas it was previously quite fast. Anyway, it wasn't the dreaded ransom scam to unlock I was worried about.

Sorry to have wasted your time, Jim. Have a great Christmas.

Cheers.
