I am having problems accessing my online account. I get so far then get the message
"We are currently upgrading our systems and need to redirect you to your temporary dashboard " I select continue on this screen but dos not go anywhere.
Spent a couple of hours this afternoon having a web chat with some one at British Gas but nothing resolved.
Anyone else experiencing same problem.

Not tonight but I've had this in the past.

At the best of times their website's as slow as a week in the jail.

Yes Doug when the adviser said he's sorry and would be 3 ~ 5 working days to get sorted. I know he is only the guy at the keyboard, but politely explained this time frame was unacceptable, he then said he had upgraded me to priority, will not hold my breath.
I've just accessed my British Gas accout without any difficulties at all. (Unlike Douglas, I've never found the site to be slow).

It might be a browser problem at your end. Try clearing its cache:

(or try a different browser).

OK Chris will give that a try. Thanks for response.
I had the same problem three weeks ago, after several 30+ minutes of phone calls(each call around £3.50p) I eventually gained access.
I was told that there hade been a problem, but it is now resolved. I did complain about the delays in answering the phone, but it was a waste of time. I did however receive an email advising me to use Chrome.

Dave I am using chrome, was not able to speak to anyone had to use web chat, I know one adviser can deal with several chats at a time using web chats but who benefits ~ British Gas !!!
It's an expensive job trying to call them by phone, as I did. I also used web chat but was kept getting passed to different 'agents' It took me three days to get sorted. Totally unsatisfactory.

Chris from your answer to my post last night and your solution, I am embarrassed to say I cannot locate a Del key. Laptop is an Hp EliteBook model No 2170p. I have run through all key combinations I can think off, do you or anyone else know ?
Question Author
Ok will give that a try, on a standard key board my fingers would find Alt ctr del blindfolded, but that was when IBM DOS was king.
You must have Del (Delete) key, tony. On my HP (and on all other devices I have used) it is on top right on the right corner
Looking at some images on Google suggests that the Del key should be at the top right corner.
Sorry, crossed posts
Question Author
going to give it a try in the morning, had a distressing day and cannot think straight at the moment & don't want to screw up.
Question Author
Ok that key combination gives the following options

*Lock this computer
*Switch user
*Log off
*Change a password
*Start task manager
I think Start task manager? Is that the one?
Ignore that key combination anyway. Just use my instructions at 20:01.
