just want to know what to do if it happens - every now and then screen turns to flickering pink. I sorta work with the plugs at the back of the monitor etc and then it comes back to white. What can it be. Thanks

Depending on the connection plugs/sockets, check for bent pins, then ensure cable plugs are pushed fully home at both monitor and computer. If that fails then test by trying a new cable. And if that fails try a new monitor.

just a thought, if the pc has an external graphics card, power off pc
take off the side of pc, screws on rear case etc, check graphic card is firmly pushed home.
