I have my favourite picture of my brother and his wife as my desktop background but have accidentally deleted the original picture. Is there a way I can save it?
Thanks in anticipation. x

Assuming you mean Windows based on your mention of Recycle Bin. Windows does hold this file but it's in a system location you may not have easy access to via file explorer. Search for it in your recycle bin -- could still be there.

(It's usually found on the top-left of your desktop -- if not, then go to Start, and search for Recycle Bin).

Unfortunately I have emptied my recycle bin many times since I used this picture. Thanks anyway. x
have you checked images/photos/pictures files?
Have you sent it via email / received it via email.
There may be a possibility of it being there somewhere.

I noe that you're using the present tense there. Does that mean that the picture is still appearing as your desktop wallpaper? If so, there must be a copy of it on your computer. (Tell us which version of Windows you're using, so that we can help you locate it).
^^^ noe?? note!!

It also depends on your version of Windows.

For Windows 10 it's held in:

C:\Users\[YOUR_USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Themes\CachedFiles

You need to get to \AppData by typing it in as it's hidden by default.
If you deleted it ages ago it's location may have been overwritten by now. But if not, there are recovery programmes on the Web that might find it. Although downloading & installing to a different disk is advisable. You could try https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva for example.

But as Buen says, if you are still seeing it as wallpaper then it still exists and it's just a case of locating it.
Could it have been backed up to the cloud , somewhere ?

Ignore me if I'm talking rubbish

Thank you all for your help. I have found the picture tucked away in a completely different file.
It did make sense that if the picture was still on my desktop the then it must still be on my PC somewhere and the app/data/roaming files.
Sorry I fell asleep last night before the answers came through but tha k you all for your time.
