Yesterday I installed the Google Photos app to sync and backup all my files/photos etc. I started this and a small rotating icon appeared in the bottom right hand corner. When I click on it, it shows what is being synched/backed-up. I started it around lunch-time yesterday and it is still going on now! There are over 23,000 and this keeps increasing. So far just under 17,000 files have been synched/backed-up and I presume this will carry on until everything on my PC is done..

Is this normal? All I wanted to do was sync my photos and I certainly do not have over 20,000 photos on my PC.

Depends on your connection speed....and the amount of data its having to upload...
Have you told it specifically which drives/ folders to look at...
Ive been using it for a fair while now and I have specified exactly which drives and what folders I want backed up and synced
Yep, takes a while.
lost my phone connection...
in addition to the above reply , it sounds like its uploading everything from whatever the default location it has set from when you installed it...

I didn't select anything so looks like its uploading everything.

Oh well, I guess there will be a huge amount of unwanted stuff synced now - into tomorrow and possibly Tuesday we go then...!

Cheers
