Hi Chris. Sometime ago I asked your opinion on Canon all in one printers. You advised TS5050. I bought a TS5150 obviously by mistake. I can't take back as it has been sitting in the box for months as I did not know how to install. Anyways I got it out yesterday and realised there were only two cartridges. I'm a little upset as that was the purpose of getting the one you mentioned. Oh well call it a senior moment. It's takes 540 so and 540. This is an update. What are your thoughts ?

I've got a different Canon printer, but it also takes 540 and 541.

It's a good machine, a million miles better than the Epsons I used to battle with so you'll probably be fine.
Now you've got it, you might as well use it. I've got a Canon Pixma all in one. Best one I've ever had, after trying out Epson, Kodak.

Yes I'd only ever use a Cannon. I just got the one with 2 cartridges by mistake. My last one is still going strong after about 10 years
Oh dear, that's a BIG mistake!

Using my preferred supplier of compatible inks, a full set of 5 high-capacity cartridges for the TS5050 costs under a tenner
https://www.inkredible.co.uk/canon-pixma-ts5050-ink-cartridges
whereas a pair of cartridges for the for the TS5150 costs nearly forty quid!

Unless you can find a cheap supplier of inks for the TS5150, it might be best to try to get a few quid for it on Gumtree (advertising it as 'New, bought in error') and buying a TS5051 to replace it. It's currently available for fifty quid in PC World (which isn't much more than a single set of inks for the TS5150)

and you could then buy your inks at under a tenner for a pack of all 5 high-capacity cartridges

Yes I had a look at cartridges Chris. Don't know how I got it wrong. After all your help. It was 69.99 but I only paid 12.49 as I got it with nectar points. Not sure what to do but maybe try your idea x
Question Author
How much do you think I should advertise for ?
Question Author
Shall I say half price ?
tam do you still have box and packaging? Could make the difference. Best you can ask for is half lowest retail price IMO.
Question Author
Hi Tony yes it's brand new I have all the 'trimmings'
Question Author
Well as it was 69.99 I thought half of that is £35
plus if you have receipt to show purchase date. All these little things will help you get a sale.
Question Author
I bought in November last but only got it out yesterday and realised my mistake
Advertise at more than you want by maybe 10% then you have some "haggle" room available to you. Buyer will be happy at getting something off.
OK just be honest with your advert, you have all the packaging etc so shouldn't be a problem.
try to get it to work

ha I did that ! - Open Uni - I wanted to do maff and went for M204 and didnt realise that was applied maff and M203 was pure
The tutors said - you're joking !
I ended up doing both

well if you buy 1 kg apples it doesnt much matter if you buy 1.1 kg. The tutors gave me an "oh god look"
Question Author
PP no idea ???? What you mean
You could try offering it for £35 but I suspect that you might end up lowering your price to get a sale. That's because many potential buyers will know that they can buy a two-cartridge Canon printer for a tenner less than that price anyway:

Question Author
Ok thanks Chris x
Can you hope for a gesture refund or credit note ?
If so you'd not have lost.
(November might be an issue though. I'm not good at checking immediately either.)

Hi oldgeezer. I doubt it very much. Generally return after 30 days.
