I have lost the various disk icons from my Ubuntu layout bar (left of screen). I have managed to set up the "Disks" ("main door") icon but I was hoping to restore the individual (subsidiary) disk icons, or at least some of them. The main icon is of course a short cut to the full list of all drives in a new window. Can anyone advise (simply please) how to create the individual icons for each drive on the list ?

Any use?

Otherwise, isn't it possible to copy an existing icon (from within the window you refer to in your post) and paste it onto your desktop? (The icons are only shortcuts, after all).

Thanks Chris. Unfortunately my gconf-editor looks different from his and "nautilus" does not have the dropdown his options, so I get no further. I had already tried to drag any/all from the "disks" window but none of them budges. I'm stuck.
