Pdf Files, Documents On Ipad Air 2019

On the ipad air 2019 if I get pdf or documents at end of email to download and open...where do they then go so I can access them. on the kindle fire they were sent to documents or pdf/adobe.Thanks.

Also why do I not have to use fingerprint for each log in like had to with set up?

Unless you do something with the item open in Mail they don’t ‘go’ anywhere, with the item open there should be a blue square with an arrow coming out of the top, tapping that gives all the various options, ‘save to Files’ or copy to iBooks is probably the most useful for PDFs.
Not sure with the fingerprint, by login, do you mean to unlock the pad rather than use a passcode, it’s enabled in Settings, Face ID & Passcode

Thanks.Just didn't know where would be directed to as on kindle have an app/icon saying files/documents.
Just wanted the fingerprint to be asked for instead of having to go into settings each time. Only asked for password now so was wondering why it was only on set up the first time
