Long Running Script

Could some kind person explain to me what is meant when I get on my computer screen "Long Running Script" as I don't know what it means.

You have something, either an app or a security programme running in the background. Do you get the message when you try to shut down?

I get that too,been for years and don't know how t it off

I usually - nay invariably - get this on loading every page of AB, which freezes for up to 3-5mn. it's caused by badly written adverts trying to load. no I can't use adblocker, the company won't allow it. no I can't use any browser other than IExplorer for the same reason.

I sometimes see a message that says "AnswerBank is not responding due to a long running script". I left-click on a button that says "Stop script", and all is well, but I would also like to know why the message appears, and is there a permanent cure?
