Social Media Site Overload

I'll be the first to admit that Im a technophobe and really don't understand all this social media stuff.
But is it just me or is there an overload of 'social' media? Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Bego, Flickr, Tumblr, WhatsApp, SnapChat, Pinterest, LinkedIn etc?
Apart from Facebook, I wouldn't have a scooby about the others.
When I was a kid, 'social' meant going out with your mates and riding bikes, playing footie and sharing a ciggy & can of lager between 10 of you. As a teenager 'social' was going to the pub with your mates, enjoying a beer to yourself and seeing who could get a bit of 'leg over' first.
Now all I see is kids and teenagers glued to their phones ''communicating'' with their friends by all this glorious, new, *social* media!!

Meh!

My sister has a land line, no mobile, no internet, and is as happy as a pig in poo.

Well done her.

I have a mobile, and Internet. No social media other than the terrible Answerbank.
I only use Answerbank and a scant look at Facebook - all of my Grandchildren use computers but aren't at overly interested in the social media type sites.
I only use Answerbank, I don't feel the need for any other.
I'm only on AB & FB. I feel so upset for children today, who are addicted to their phones, iPad, Xbox and the like. To me they are missing out on their childhood.
I only use answerbank occasionally. No mobile phone, no other sites. Don’t even know their names let alone what they do. Don’t want to know either.
No wonder so many young ones have mental problems.
100% overload
Sorry yours have that problem.

We are lucky, our lot have full active lives in all sorts of ways and also manage to use computers to the good as well as for fun when they are at home.

They use them for studying, graphic design , the youngest is keen on engineering spec and my Granddaughter is besotted with crafting.
Perhaps all those people glued to their phones are just trying to get a pass mark on an assignment?

I do love a new social media site....
I rarely use my phone. My son is at uni and has just had a book delivered 'bloody foreigners'

He's studying history
Careful you don't get a call from this lot Theland.

My 15 year old Grandson often forgets his phone completely, he's supposed to have it with him when out.

A few weeks ago he must have thought he'd left it at home, because he was discovered with his pal climbing a dangerous ridge in the dark.

He forgets there's a tracker on it.
Mamya - plagiarism no doubt!
I'm certain of it but sure you'll survive.
