Hello
When I inserted the sd card from my old camera into my laptop it offered me a choice of viewing, one of which was 'show files' however...…...I now have a new Sony compact camera and when I now insert the sd card from it into my laptop there is no option and the new photos taken appear on screen along with all my other 900 photos that I have stored in my docs! I then have the problem of locating just the camera's latest photos and downloading them to view and save.

Please what has gone wrong and how can I make my laptop show just the files on the card.

Thanks

do you have the option to keep card in camera and attach the camera ? what I do and the option to seek new pics to import comes up.. not Sony though
do you delete pics already imported to laptop from the card ?
If you've installed new camera software on your PC it may gave overwritten previous settings. Maybe check what is set to autorun at startup ? Aside from that I can not recall, and I'm not in a position to check, where the settings for attaching a new SD card would be; but have a look and see if you can find it. Otherwise someone knowledgeable may visit the thread soon.

Think I have solved it! Yes I can take photos direct from my camera - good point but have managed to alter my settings.

Went into PC settings and then devices - autoplay and having now altered the settings to 'ask me first...… now whenever I put in a SD card the options for what to do appear and I can click 'show files'

Thank you both
