If so, does it live it to your expectations? I like to hear about people's experiences :)

yes, I got the fit bit I requested, but it has already gone back due to a dodgy battery.
Question Author
Oh no! Have you used one before?
No, it charged up in 20 mins instead of 1 - 2 hours and discharged in 12 hours instead of 6 days.
Question Author
That's disappointing.
It was, we are going to drive to one of the bigger towns in the new year and go to John Lewis where I will get to choose, either another fitbit, or an alternative. At least I will get some help and advice there.
Yes I got a Go Pro but I haven't tried it yet, gave my OH a dashcam and that's fitted up and running well.
Question Author
Is the Go Pro for when you go skiing in the Alps, Prudie?

Hope you get the fit bit (or alternative) sorted, ubass. It really motivated my friend to move more and lose weight
It will get sorted hc, but the last thing I need to do is lose weight. Just need to motivate myself while Mr U is out of action and we are not doing our normal walking.
Question Author
I can see the appeal of those Fit Bits, helps you keep track of your activity.
Prudie, make sure you get your Go Pro the right way round, met some people using one when we were on holiday, she had us in stitches, the first holiday she used it on she recorded herself the whole time. When playing it back to her family she heard herself saying 'I have really got the hang of this now'. You can imagine the ribbing they gave her.
Question Author
:D I can see the day when everyone wears a body camera and the footage is automatically saved 'in the cloud'.
/// she recorded herself the whole time ///

That's OK, Selfies are all the rage these days.

Cool
Oh dear ubasses, hope I don't make that mistake :-) I've never ski'd (how do you spell that?) but I do a lot of snorkelling on holiday and use a waterproof camera that's really difficult to see what you're filming - I get lots of shots of my fingernails!
Yep got a Panasonic Blu ray 4k ultra HD spec player to replace my old player. The audio out for surround sound is phone whilst the old one had twin plugs. So I have had to order up 6 phono male plugs before I can set it up. No problem. It is also wifi enabled so I don't need to hook up a LAN cable to get the Panasonic upgrades.
Question Author
You'll need a lot of 4k disks now, Togo. Hope your tv is 4k,too.

Yeah I got a stocking filler from my partner of a GPS dog collar for my escape artist Lurcher which is actually bloody brilliant, since she can clear the five barred gate when she fancies it, but doesn't do it very often. Nice to get an alert that she's done it so I can go straight out and call her back down the track. x
The TV is also a Panasonic TX-58dx802. Good to go. I also have the correct spec HDMI leads for the video content.
Got an interesting gadget to carry in the car a few years ago. It's a torch/flashlight that has two intensities of brightness, an am/fm radio, a place, with attachments, to charge your phone, and an ear-splitting siren to get attention. And you don't need batteries: you charge it up by cranking a handle...It's great and works well, although I've never had to use it in an "emergency situation".

What a fab idea, Kval! Especially with the amount of 'dognapping' I read about in the news.

Is this it, sanmac? Looks useful

I've got the same tv as you, Togo. Panasonic is hard to beat
Yes, hc, same principle but that design is a little more space-shippy than mine:)
