Facebook Messenger Photos

It used to be that when someone sent me a photo via messenger it was auto saved in my gallery on my phone, this no longer happens, has something changed on messenger or is it likely to be a phone issue?

Thanks Chris, I have followed these instructions but I must have a different version as the save photos option is no longer there, ah well that's progress I suppose

Bring up photo on messenger then press home button and on/off button at same time this saves photo in gallery.
