When I turned on my pc and speakers this evening there was a very loud 'droning' noise coming from my speakers. I've checked all the connections and everything seems to be in place. Does anyone know what the problem might be? Everything was working fine yesterday when I used it last!

Do you have a microphone attached? Check that the volume for the microphone is turned down or turned off altogether or keep it away from the speakers (feedback and all that).

Have you got a portable player of some kind (eg. CD player, tape player, 'ghetto blaster') with a headphone socket that you could plug your speakers into to see if they are working ok?
Were you playing Westlife ??
