Ipad Refuses To Let Me Download.

My iPad shows that I have Used 8.4 GB and Available 4.0GB, but it won’t let me download anything from BBC iPlayer etc, which is really annoying for when I go on holiday.
I checked out iCloud and it shows 2.8GB available, but still won’t let me download anything.
I have deleted everything possible to free up storage. Where do I go from here??

I use an app called Pad Info and it tells me I have less disk space than you. Time for a tidy up!

Have just tried IPlayer and downloaded Sy At Night no bother.

Totlally shutdown and restart the ipad and try again.

Thanks Tuvok. I tried to download that app, but the ‘get’ was greyed out and wouldn’t comply.

Now got iPad app to work, and tried to download the Getty programme.
It said ‘download failed’, but thanks for trying.
Although this thread deal with problems downloading apps (rather than iPlayer content) it's possible that something here might still be relevant:
