Yes - have a look in "Bin" - deleted stuff is kept there for 30 days .

You can then select the emails you need and move them back to the Inbox or one of your other folders.

I have emptied trash as well
Ah - then you have a problem - Gmail says that permanently deleted messages are "not recoverable in normal circumstances" - I think you'd need a Court Order.

Your only hope is if you have also accessed gmail using a third party program (like Outlook, Thunderbird or Apple Mail) at some point - then you may find some/all of the deleted messages are still available there.
I'm interested by your use of the word "Trash" - if you mean your computer (or tablet) Trash then that is not the same as Gmail's Bin - that is listed on the left hand menu of Gmail - below Inbox, Starred Important etc.
>>>I'm interested by your use of the word "Trash"

If you leave (or have) your language in GMail set as US then it is called Trash

If you change it to UK it renames it as Bin

So this user could still have their default language set as US (I think GMail default to US unless you change it)
Thanks Guilbert - I'd forgotten that (so used to seeing 'Bin' in my lists).
They should have gone into the "Trash" file, unless they were spam you deleted.
well I'm on Outlook and have just looked there - in my deleted - it says do you want to recover deleted - I said yes or ok and it brought me back to January 2018
Well, if you delete in the recycle bin, you can try to use a free data recovery software to recovery it.
