Further to my earlier question about making pdf files from word documents. I asked the wrong question. What I want to do is to edit pdf files, which I cannot do now since I have stopped my subscription to Adobe. Is there a method of editing pdf documents without a subscription?

When you say you want to edit a PDF do you mean turn it into a form by adding fields or do you want to remove a bit of the PDF but still keep it as a PDF?

The purpose of a PDF is so that anybody can read it with a PDF reader programme - without having the original software that was used to create it, and also so that the document appears how the creater wanted it to look.
There are free online services which you can edit pdf files with, such as
https://www.pdfzorro.com/
and
https://www.pdfescape.com/windows/
(Note that while the online version of that one is free, the desktop version requires a subscription).

Or see here for alternatives:

All I would suggest is having a look at a program (free) Foxit? But I believe editing a genuine PDF needs subscription? And as for removing the security or password in a PDF then having the program or a subscription is a MUST!
But Foxit is a good prog. worth a try!
