I've just noticed after going unto youtube , that it states the following -

''Commenting publicly as xxxxxxxx ''
Where xxxxx is my name .

Also it's showing my gmail address

How does it know my name and gmail address ?

YouTube is part of Google.

You're obviously logged into your Google account. If you'd rather not be, there's a 'sign out' option at the top of each Youtube page.
