I am starting up as a mobile DJ, and I want to advertise on Facebook, because I am advised that this is where people will look for a party DJ.

How can I ensure that my Facebook page will be seen by the right people?

I am a complete beginner with FB - my daughter is going to set up my page for me, I just need to know what to put on it - images, etc., and how to make sure that the right people, and enough of them can see it.

Thanks for any advice.

Have a search to see whether your local town/s has/have a Facebook page. You can then join the group and post adverts (unless that sort of thing is frowned upon).

Instagram might be good too.

Posters in Pubs & clubs too! And maybe in your local card shop / newsagents.

Thanks guys - really helpful - and thanks for the good wishes spath!

I don't think I'll look like a school party disco - I'm 63!

But I do know what I'm doing - forty-plus years of experience has that effect.

You should get some customers by advertising on here.

Advertising is against Site Rules - as I am sure you know.

I know anyway, so that's what matters.

I know, but it seems obvious that you don't, if your thread isn't advertising via the back door I don't know what is.
Have you addressed that matter with all other ABers over the years who have explored their business ventures?

Good luck Andy.
Maybe ANOTHEOLDGIT has a wee sideline in rotating a few wax cylinders from his youth and Andy is a threat...
Good point Corby.

OK then, we'll agree that you don't know what advertising by the back door is.

I asked a simple question in Technology - if I wanted to 'advertise', I'd have stuck my e-mail address in Chatterbank.

Stop seeing things that are not there.
Andy, I wish you all the very best.

Local newspapers, and has been mentioned, local FB page where you could advertise.

Hope Yogi sees this and can offer advice. x

Alba - thanks for your kind wishes, and to everyone else who has offered supportive advice.

We'll draw a veil over the one poster who has to see deceit and rule-breaking where clearly none exists - because of personal animosity, rather than actual evidence.
Good luck Andy... local community FB page would be a good idea too..
Quite a few local tradesmen and such like advertise on our local facebook page.
Give it a go, andy.
