hello, i recently found out (to my horror) that hotmail deletes the sent items mailbox after 30 days. is there any way of stopping this? i know the work-around it to create a new folder call "sent 2" and transfer the sent items to this, but there must be an easier way. what are hotmail thinking? that nobody wants to keep one's sent items? so nobody wants a record of the e-mails that they have sent? its not as though they are easy to save (you have to remember to tick the "save this message in the sent items" before sending the e-mail) so it is especially irritating to have them deleted. i hate those hotmail ********...

Solutions:
1. Go to your sent messages folder once a month and move all the emails there to a "permasave" folder.
2. Use Outlook/Express to access your hotmail account and archive the items sent
3. Use a non-hotmail address as we both agree they're rubbish. "gmail/googlemail" archive even the things you try to delete! LOL
4. Petition hotmail to save sent items permanently.

Apart from saying "there there" and sympathising I can't think of anything else that may help.

I think you need to get yourself a decent service provider. Hotmail is free and therefore can do what it likes with your emails!! Have you tried yahoo? I think they allow you to save more...and are still free.

Could you join freeserve or aol? They give you respect!!
