I have received an attachment in an email in Outlook Express, but the attached file doesn't have a file name in which to open it.

Is there any way that I can attach a file name to this attachment so that it can be opened?

Is the email from a known source and a genuine email?

It may be that the attachment is not a real attachment, but rather something sent by the senders email system eg. an email signature.
If you're sure that it's from a reputable source, and you know (or can take a reasonable guess) at what file type it is . . .

Save the file to any convenient location on your computer. (e.g. to your 'Documents' folder). Go to that location. Right-click on the file and select Rename. Add the relevant file extension (such as .doc or .jpg) to its name and hit enter.
