Hi, I think my old laptop may soon be deserting me. Its getting old, and used daily so can't really complain,

Ideally I'd like to replace it with an iPad..but they are far too expensive for this old lady to browse the net and see my little great grand childrens photos.

I looked in Tesco today but was baffled by them.

Can anyone recommended anything to help me make up my mind.

Many thanks XXXXX

If you're looking for cheap and cheerful try Tesco Hudl. I had one and it works just as well as my Kindle.
Sorry, Ummmm, Tesco announced that they'd no longer be selling the Hudl nearly two years ago.

The Amazon Fire 7 is possibly the nearest equivalent, at just £34.99:

For a bigure screen (in higher definition), consider the Amazon Fire HD 8, at £64.99:

Both of those models should meet your fairly basic needs, Cupotee2.
Gosh...I missed that. It was good tablet as well.
We have a Kindle fire HD (I think) and we use it the same way we use my laptop.
I have a 7 inch, to be replaced soon by a 10 inch, ( makes a big difference)
Get another laptop.

I've tried tablets, and can't get on with them.
cupoftea.....there are plenty of good value laptops about these days, so why not stick with them ?

You will miss the bigger screen, and easy usability of a proper computer. I would borrow a tablet first and see how you get on.

Tesco have some very good value laptops !

Thanks for the replies..

Sorry, I meant to say I already have a Tesco Hudl...useless and soo slow.
I must been half asleep when I wrote this post last night as it was Curry's I looked in,not Tesco!!

I may well be sticking to a laptop as I prefer a keyboard.

Thanks again xx

Very wise.

Sometimes Dell have some good deals on their website. Worth comparing that with shop prices.
Cuppa....with you all the way about keyboards !

Virtual keyboards are an abomination.
I feel like the boy in The Emperor's New Clothes, saying the truth that tablet computers are rubbish.
I have a Kindle Fire which is great. I recently bought another laptop- haven't used one in years, but it is so inconvenient compared to a tablet or phone, I have barely switched it on.
A tablet is much more convenient - but...not so much with Windows.
The Android operating system is much better for tablets and I would recommend the 10 inch Samsung at around £160.
Each to their own.

All I know is 'er indoors has an iPad, and each time I try to use it I feel like chucking it out of the window.
