Hi , my son is renovating a bungalow and is wondering what he can do with an unwanted cable from BT's Openreach that is just dangling in front of the window. He has decided not to have a landline , please can anyone suggest a safe way of removing it. We have tried many times without success to contact Openreach but are just going round in circles. Thanks

Follow the cable back and it should terminate in a box.Open the box and either unscrew the terminals or just pull them out of the ID terminals.

Don't call BT...they might charge you !

Do as Ryzen says.
The only BT wires you can touch are the ones that are inside the property .. anything fitted running out of the mastersocket. Anything before the mastersocket (entering the property) is a no go area.
I'm sure the householder can't be held responsible for persons unknown removing a cable.
Tsk, the times we live in.
You could hack it off with an axe and blame the squirrels :-)
