Has anyone ever tried Typing in

=Rand(X,Y)

into word, where X and Y are two numbers?

Why does it do this? Any suggestions?

Well, I'd never tried it before, and it is weird, nut how did you discover it?

Thanks Kerplunk, I was wondering what it was actually for, and rojash , I discovered it when one of my friends sent me an email about it.

It can be used to generate a large amount of text so that you can play ('experiment') with it. Also can be used to generate blocks of text for putting into a DTP pakage like Publisher or PageMaker.

I'm sure Microsoft have their own reasons?
