Well, following the helpful advice I received some weeks back I have bought a Canon printer to replace my Epson and am about to install it, rather belatedly as have been a bit off colour. I have downloaded full details from Epson of how to fully uninstall an all-in-one from windows 10. It says that these do not apply if I have an inbox driver!. It is an Epson XP-315 and it technical data says that it has a remote printer driver, is this in all cases or only when remote printing from other devices? Sounds OK. But is it not sufficient just to run the Epson Printer Uninstaller on its own? Also is it a wise precaution to download an independent uninstaller programme for removing all the tendrils of this or any other bit of programming. Every time I think I have considered all aspects, some other question pops up.
Do I just need to stop dithering and get on with it??

Probably yes!

However there's no particular reason to remove the Epson software anyway (other than freeing up a bit of space on your hard drive which, with the large drives that come as standard these days, isn't going to make much difference). If you're worried, simply leave the Epson software installed. It won't conflict in any way with the software for your Canon printer. (Installing the Canon software will almost certainly set your Canon model as the default printer. If not, simply go to Start > Devices and Printers, right-click on the icon for your new printer and select 'Set as default printer'. You can also remove your Epson printer from the list through right-clicking on it there as well).

You are, of course, right. Dithering is my forte. I shall proceed without further ado. Thank you for being such a good boy to this mother hen.
