kempie, tried that but as I said in the original post it does not work - that is why i asked for info about where i could get a disc from.  Thanks anyway - DAve
Apart from the manual and any OCR software etc. all you will find on the install disc is Toolbox and Scangear CS (which contains the TWAIN driver).

Kempie - that is exactly what i need - Scangear and Toolbox - as i said earlier my computer has thrown a wobblie at the download version so i need to get an install disc and take it straight from that - Dave
Have you used Deldrv.exe to uninstall the driver before reinstallation?
Question Author
yes i ran that after the install failed - what happens is that it shows Scangear installing - using a "grey" pane but does NOT go into the normal .exe routine and i have not found it anywhere in the PC and the scanner can't find it either - this is why i want a disc to run it from so i can just plug and play - i don't want to spend any more brain cells trying to get the download to work.
