what printer what computer what editing program?
Do your printer settings have a scale to fit page type of option ?

its an epsom scan/prr, it goes straight onto windows picture viewer and from there you can put it into word pad paint windows something else, put if i on printreview either
if you open the scan in Word or Openoffice you take hold of the corner of the image and drag it across diagonally till it reaches the size you require. You might also wish to reduce the standard margins to make it larger.

if i open it in office or word the chart comes up in all numbers lol. i remeber doing what you said to take over the design, then scan again then print preview and take a tick out of something or p one in then print but cant seem to do it
Question Author
ive managed to get it into word but cant move margins and there is no icon to click on to tcorner to stretch it
If the data isn't saved as a data file automatically then you need to do that first. You can then open or import it into whatever programme you opt for. Wordprocessors often allow you to drag to size. I do not understand what you mean by all numbers but I suspect that you are trying to open it directly rather than insert it into an open document. But do check the print options too. Whatever you use it may well be able to scale to fit A4 or something similar. Try experimenting.
Insert a text box into your Word document. Copy your item into that, and then you'll be able to drag it to whatever size you want.
If you inserted it correctly then you ought not see any icons but the image of the scan. The image has edges/corners which should be dragable.

defeated it was so easy to do when i did it 3 years ago with the same printer scanner.. im not computer literate lolcant even get to where i can preview before printing but i need to get to where i can drag a perforated line over it as well... is there anywhere i can take it for someone to do it for me
I'm a little bit confuses by all this faffing about. If you started with the scan in Windows Photo Viewer, why don't you just use the "print" tab there when you're given an option to "fit the page"? Am I missing something?
Question Author
i know its a lot of faffing thats why its not happening lol..if i print and fit to page .it dosent fit it out to an A4 size at the min my chart measures 7 1/2 x8
Question Author
just printed it off in picture viewer with a tick in fit to page and it mises 1-2cm of the chart, this is why we used to use the perforated line around then print preview and such like
First of all, just do a 'Scan Preview' then adjust the size of the scan using the perforated lines to outline the item. Choose scan again and you can then choose to either save as jpeg or if the image opens in Windows photo viewer you can print from there. make sure you choose 'fit to page' in your printer options.

If you saved the scan as a jpeg, you can just right click on the file and select print from the sub menu.

slackalice... this is exactly what i want to do but i cant... cant even get it to anywhere that i can "scan preview" or perferated line. firstly i scan it and it immedietly comes up in picture viewer, from there i can open it in another programe but once its there is no icon for "preview" and nowhere to rescan, if i click on print it starts printing without a box coming up with adjusting or previewing
Go to 'All programs' on your Start Menu, scroll down to Windows Accessories and select 'Windows Fax and Scan' and do a scan preview from there and then follow ^^^^^ my other post.
Question Author
ok got perforated line around and preview, then scaned, then it saved as j peg, then it saved as the size it already is
Question Author
no opened it up in j peg, print and fit to page and it still misses part of the chart,
You could try using Microsoft Word, set View to 'Print Layout' and insert the JPEG file as a picture.

Then click the inserted picture and use the mouse to drag the picture edges to the size you require.

im stumped, cant even get it into word comes up as all numbers and symbols
