Have any ABrs noticed in the last year,or two that some movies & documentaries now have such LOUD incidental music that it drowns speech out and makes for difficult perception?
My apologies if I should have this question elsewhere ....

Drives me nuts. I wonder if a karaoke type device isn't available to remove music and leave the dialogue. Sometimes I resort to switching off the sound completely and reading the subtitles.

Yes, I've noticed it for much more than a year. It spoils the enjoyment of many a program.
I cant say I've noticed!

Nope! I use TV mainly for background noise nowadays, every now and again they'll put on something that makes me look up, but it don't happen often!
I must admit on occasions the background music is intrusive.
baldric; Dare one ask what you are doing?
Matheous you will have to speak up. I can't hear you for the bleadyn background music. Oh and turn the brightness up while you're at it.
Yes...isn't annoying. And the brightness, as Togo says.

Talking, Reading, Crosswords, Sudokus, Accounts for Rentals, Out and about with OH, Dog Walking, Sleeping, Eating, Navel Gazing, Whatever I damn well like to be honest, I just have very little interest in TV as is at the moment and I've just checked, we have almost 200 channels available here, the Freeview Radio ones are my choice a lot of the time, we're lucky we have a property where it's very easy to get your own space if you want/need it.

just watched on my smart tv Woody Allen's 'Blue Jasmine' on youtube. Smashing film. No intrusive music, music yes but appropriate, and just one f word also appropriate and with effect. Cate Blanchette, gotta be the best screen actress ever!

Even on the News headlines, you get that stupid background drumming. Really irritating!
