Haggling A 3 Contract

I'm currently paying £36 a month on a HTC Phone with 3. It's on their "One Plan". The contract is up this month and I'd like a HTC M9. The problem is that the contract for the M9 is £39 per month. I'm determined I'm not going to pay more on a contract that I'm paying right now. I don't use a quarter of my allowance on "The One Plan" and consequently, 3 have made a packet from me. How much power do I have to haggle over the monthly price of the M9 in these circumstances? The One Plan is now obsolete with 3 and the packages are based on 1GB, 2GB etc data allowances with all you can eat data and minutes.

Thank you

A possibility would be to find M9 with another network that is cheaper than 3.
Present 3 with the costs that you have found.
Tell 3 to better the price or you shall leave.
It is worth a try.
Why not change network? O2 offer it for just over £30 per month:

When you ring up to tell them that you want to leave, you'll get put through to the "retention" department - it's their job to try and keep you and persuade you NOT to leave .... they have more power than the regular sales staff, as in they can offer you bigger discounts.
When my contract expired with Vodafone, I knew what phone I wanted, told them I'd found it cheaper elsewhere and I wanted to leave. Vodafone's advertised price for the phone bundle was £35 pm .... I got it for £24.15 pm with Vodafone .... result :)
